About This Spot

Stepping into Blugré Coffee is like finding a quiet nook in the bustling heart of Davao City—a cozy retreat where the pace softens and the hum of daily life gently fades. Nestled within Matina Town Square, this coffee shop invites you into a space that feels both familiar and refreshingly distinct, with soft lighting and comfortable corners that encourage lingering conversations or a moment of calm solitude. The air hums quietly with the gentle aroma of freshly brewed coffee, mingling effortlessly with subtle notes of local flavors.

What sets this place apart is its warm embrace of the region’s unique tastes—most notably through their signature durian-infused beverages and pastries. Here, durian isn’t merely an ingredient; it’s a story told through a surprisingly subtle yet rich coffeeccino, where hints of the fruit’s essence emerge amid the boldness of espresso, enhanced further by actual slices of durian for an authentic touch. Alongside, a thoughtfully curated selection of simple, comforting meals and sweet treats add to the homey appeal, making every visit feel like a gentle adventure into Davao’s culinary heart.

The mood moves at an easy, unhurried rhythm. Whether you’re settling in for a quiet afternoon with a creamy Durian Arctic Blast or sharing bites like grilled cheese quesadillas with friends, the atmosphere supports conversation and connection without fuss. A single outdoor table fronts the nearby business center, offering a rare spot to watch the world go by while retreating in cool shade.

Blugré’s space has been carefully shaped to welcome those seeking a pause—a little refuge where attention is given equally to craft and comfort. The blend of cozy interiors, refreshing local flair, and approachable menu choices makes it more than just a coffee shop; it becomes a place that invites discovery, one sip and bite at a time.

Organic Durian coffee, not too sweet and with natural slices/bits of durian fruit. The place is cozy too. This is one of a kind coffee shop introducing durian.

Good ambiance and good coffee and cakes I visited recently and they seem the have redesigned the place. I still always lobe their Durian Arctic Blast and their chocolate drink. So good to be back.

Place is cozy, and chill. It was afternoon and hot when we got there good thing their AC is working smoothly. I just wish the place has more “light” cos some parts are a bit dark. Free parking too! Hurray! Durian Coffeeccino is a hot drink, it has strong coffee taste and with a hint of durian aroma. Surprisinly it has Durian pieces inside! What a treat. Same goes with their Durian Arctic Blast which is a cold/iced version of the Durian Coffeecino. Big surprise is the Durian Bar. Tastes like cheesecake with a hint of durian flavor. We really enjoyed this one. No wonder this cafe has been in biz since 1998! A true Davao gem
